Overview

Mr. Post has been a Superintendent for Gaetano Construction for the past 11 years working on some of our most prestigious projects. Mr. Post's responsibilities include coordinating activities of all site contractors and assuring compliance with architect/engineer drawings and specifications.

He also insures compliance with OSHA mandates and federal, state and local zoning ordinances while maintaining job schedules. In addition, Jim is the communication link between the Project Manager, owner and all subcontractors while supervising on-site workers.

During Mr. Post's 29 years experience in construction, the majority of his responsibilities were as Superintendent.

Mr. Post is currently supervising a multi-million dollar housing project at Liberty Gardens in Rome, NY consisting of 3 phases which includes complete revitalization of existing buildings, construction of new buildings, including handicap accessible units and a new community center completed to Energy Star and LEED Standards.

Key Projects

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center Combined Heat 7 Power Plant, Utica, NY

Supervised and coordinated the installation of a three-generator CHP plant. Project consisted of removal of abandoned boilers from the basement level mechanical room and installation of (3) natural gas burning electric generators. The coolant and exhaust heat is recovered to heat the domestic hot water and generate steam for heating. The work was phased and sequenced throughout many existing mechanical rooms in the functioning hospital. $6.2M

New York State Department of Corrections Residential Mental Health Facility, Marcy Correctional Facility, Marcy, NY

A 60,000 square-foot 1-story building with masonry exterior & interior wall. A Fast Track LEED Project completed within the 293 day bonus period. Job value: $11.1M

Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, NY - Emergency Dept.

The new construction has nearly tripled the size of the hospital's Emergency Department from 3,700 square-feet to 10,500 square-feet. The project includes an additional 10,500 square-feet of space below and approximately 8,000 square-feet above the new Emergency Department. Job value: $6.7M

Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, NY - Energy Center

This 4,500 square-foot facility houses the new emergency generators, electrical switchgear, controls, boilers and chillers. Relocating the underground utilities and electrical service was required to complete the 90 foot long 8 x 8 concrete tunnel that will house mechanical lines into the hospital. Job value: $4M

Cook-Chill Expansion at Oneida Correctional Facility, Rome, NY

A two-year, multi-phase expansion project to centralize food production services for the NYS Department of Corrections. Job value: $12.5M

House of Good Shepherd Group Emergency Care Facility, Utica, NY

1-story, 8,000 square-foot wood framed dormitory building constructed through the winter of 1999 and completed in May 2000. This residential style building is complete with a dormitory wing, kitchen facility and conference areas. Job value: $1.7M

House of Good Shepherd School Addition, Utica, NY

Multiple classroom addition and extensive renovation to an existing educational building, completed during the same time period as project above. Job value: $1.4M
