Heidelberg Bread - New Facility

Charles A Gaetano Construction, Utica NY has completed work on the new 28,800 sf Baking Facility for Heidelberg Bread. Following over a year of planning the project is the very first building in the Herkimer County IDA's "Pumpkin Patch" Industrial Park located in Frankfort, NY. The building replaces the original Heidelberg plant in Herkimer which the company had outgrown due to its continued growth and high demand for the artisan bread products they have produced since 1983.

The project was completed on a Design-Build basis that includes Site, Structural, Architectural and Mechanical/Electrical design and construction. The building includes separate Production and Packaging areas, Hi R value Insulated Metal Wall and Roof Panels, Staff offices and support facilities. Wild Residence - Old Forge, NY

A 4,000 SF Custom Vacation Home and detached garage located on Second Lake. The exterior features include Seneca Limestone at the lower level and cement board siding at the main floor with a sloped Cape Ann style roof. The building shell is insulated with Hi-R spray foam and exterior insulated sheathing panels to meet the new continuous insulation energy code. The interior is finished with skim coat plaster, stone window sills, tile, hardwood flooring and wrought iron stair railings. Lucky Duck Vacation Rental Units- Sylvan Beach, NY

Working for one of our long standing commercial clients, we completed the addition of a full second floor to (2) existing rental units that originally was part of an old beach front motel. Utica College - Welcome Center

We have just completed Utica College's new Welcome Center, which will serve as the first stop for prospective students and their families. After having abandoned a previous design that was over budget, we worked with the owner to develop a concept that met their budget and achieved a look that blended with the existing campus. The Design-Build project is a 5,500 sf custom Butler pre-engineered building with conventional exterior products including brick, blue stone, architectural metal, and aluminum/glass.

Some of the building's features include a Great Room with a 17' high foot ceiling and floor to ceiling Bluestone fireplace, six interview rooms for individual conferences with students and parents as well as a large open office area, conference room and lounge for faculty and staff. The Great Room offers such amenities as wireless capabilities, USB Ports and audio-visual infrastructure for use by visiting families. The Carbone Auto Group-New Corporate Offices & Reconditioning/Auction Facility - New York Mills, NY

The Carbone Auto Group selected us for yet another major Design-Build project. The company purchased the former Chicago Market/Rite Aid Building at 5197 Old Commercial Drive to relocate their Corporate Offices and Reconditioning/Auction operations. The Offices will utilize the former 14,000 sf Drug Store and the Reconditioning Center/Auction Facility will utilize 16,000 sf of the former Grocery Store.

Liberty Gardens Housing Revitalization

This $34.7M project was successfully completed in three phases which included the "rehabilitation" of (8) two-story masonry buildings and the "new" construction of (9) buildings along with a newly constructed Community Center for the residents. A total number of 180 units resulted, 16 are handicap-accessible and 8 are hearing and/or visual impairment. The new 1,600 SF community center built during the 2nd phase houses a kitchen, computer room and laundry facility for the residents' use and offices for the property management staff. The guidelines for Energy Star Homes were incorporated on this project making it energy-efficient and economically affordable for its community.

The Community Foundation of Oneida & Herkimer Counties selected Gaetano Construction as the General Contractor/Construction Manager for the renovation of their New Facility on Genesee Street in Utica, NY. Accelerate Sports Complex

This 104,000 SF multi-purpose indoor sports complex is our largest Butler Building project in several years. Our $3.7M contract includes a custom Butler structural system featuring a 155' clear span x 300' turf soccer/lacrosse/baseball field, a 14' wide x 900' (4-lane) suspended running track overlooking the field, (3) full-size basketball courts, 10,000SF multi-purpose mezzanine with room for 8-10 batting cages, locker/bathroom area, pro shop, and a future 5,000 SF fitness center. We have been awarded an 18,000 sf Design-Build addition to this 60,000 sf Facility that we completed in 2006. The expansion is for the ever growing wood framed wall panelization business. The roof installation is underway as of July 15th.

Construction Management (CM) At Risk

We specialize in Construction Management services working with private colleges, non-profits, developers, and health care clients to deliver projects from pre-construction budgeting through complete project management. We provide office Project Managers and experienced on-site Superintendents for every project.

Butler Design-Build

As a Butler Builder since 1982, we have completed Design-Build projects for clients throughout Central and Northern New York. Offering single source responsibility, our Design-Build services include site selection, in-house AutoCAD drafting, complete project compliance, mechanical and electrical engineering with our independent professional consultants, from concept through project completion.

Conventional Design-Build

Not just Butler buildings, we have completed many Conventional Construction Design-Build projects as well. Offering the same services as with Butler projects but with conventionally framed buildings working with local engineers and architects. These projects tend to be larger and more complex.

General Construction

Since 1960, we have served Central and Northern New York clients as a traditional general contractor working from owner provided plans and specifications for both private and public clients. We self-perform concrete foundations and interior build-out with our experienced Superintendents and crews.

Mr. Gaetano has worked at the Charles A. Gaetano Construction Corp. since 1969. In 1993 he assumed responsibility for the company's business development. Under his leadership, the firm has tripled its work volume performed, while the business has grown into a full-service general contractor and design-build firm.

As a graduate of SUNY Institute of Technology, I started with Gaetano as a Project Manager Assistant. I have since progressed to Estimator and Project Manager, working on several multi-million dollar projects.
