After years of legal and environmental delays, finally in the year 2000 the City
of Utica demolished the abandoned factory and prepared the site for re-development.
We teamed with Butler Real Estate to offer a Design-Build-Lease project that was
ultimately accepted by the City, the NYS D.E.C., and Utica Converters. The 96,000
SF project was completed in less than 6 months and a month ahead of schedule.
Utica Converters, a subsidiary of Goodyear Tires of North America, produces polyester
cord materials used in tires, and will add several jobs due to this expansion.
