The $13 million dollar expansion of St. Elizabeth Medical Center's emergency room and trauma center
is part of a multi-year hospital project comes at the right time for area patients.
The ER is larger and has separate triage areas for walk-ins and ambulance arrivals.
There will be 36 beds with 24 bathrooms vs. the current 24-bed configuration with
only four bathrooms. The second floor of the addition is the new hospital kitchen, the
space that the ER occupies now will be the new hospital cafeteria.
