This design-build project was completed in 1991 after a fire had destroyed the
original structure. The 15,000 SF building includes 6,000 SF of offices,
dispatch rooms, driver's lockers and a lunch room, as well as 9,000 SF for five
service bays, a spray booth and a two bay drive-through wash area. Owned
by Waste Management of New York (East Rochester, NY), the new facility was constructed
over an old city ash landfill. The foundations consist of concrete caissons
to a depth of 40 feet and a structural floor slab.
